The LeaderWorks Trust is a generous Kickstarter fund for Anglican Churches ready to take the next step in growth, building, land acquisition, or any other major capital expenditure.

It is simple to understand.  The LeaderWorks Trust will help any Anglican Church ready to take the next step in raising money from their membership for capital projects, land acquisition, debt retirement, or ministry investment. We have partnered with Horizons Stewardship to provide the needed consulting for your church, and the LeaderWorks Trust will pay for the first 20% of the capital fund campaign fee. That usually covers the entire cost of a campaign feasibility study conducted by the expert consultants at Horizons.

Here is an example from the field:

St. Peter’s is an eight-year-old church plant using rented space for Sunday worship. They have researched and are ready to buy a piece of land with a building suitable to their needs.  All they needed was money!

They contacted LeaderWorks and applied for the grant. Next, the Rector and Vestry met with the consultant from Horizons Stewardship. They were eager to get started. They submitted their paperwork to The LeaderWorks Trust and were approved for the grant. They received a check payable to the church for $12,500 to begin the feasibility study.

Then, the Horizon team and the parish leaders moved forward. After meeting with the parish leadership, staff, vestry, and several families in the church to review the project, Horizons wrote a report for the Vestry and Rector outlining their findings. According to the report by the consultant, the church could likely raise nearly $1,200,000 for the project.

With the written report in hand, the Vestry and Rector decided to move forward and complete the rest of the capital campaign within the next two months. (They were under no obligation. Most churches will want to move forward when they know they can raise the funds and start their project. But they are under no obligation to do so.)

At the end of the process, the church received pledges and cash donations of over $1,400,000 from the members of their congregation.

WIN/WIN/WIN/WIN

The experience with St. Peter’s was a win-win-win-win situation. The Horizons consultant was able to work with the congregation’s leadership to develop the program; the church introduced its members to biblical stewardship and generosity to achieve their goals; the LeaderWorks Trust fulfilled its mission to help churches raise their own capital resources, and the Lord Jesus was honored through the entire process.
