Interview: Bishop Clark Lowenfield of Houston

As we have heard the reports and seen the images coming out of Houston and South Texas, we don’t always know how to process what’s really happening on the ground. I had the great privilege to speak with my good friend and partner in ministry, the Right Reverend Clark Lowenfield, Bishop of the Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast. He also serves as the rector of HopePointe Anglican Church in The Woodlands, Texas.

A photo from Bishop Lowenfield’s neighborhood.

This faithful bishop has lived and served through five hurricanes, and—as he told me—he has never seen anything like the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. This week has wrought untold damage to cities and families along the gulf coast; the relief effort will require years of patient, faithful commitment.

Hear firsthand what is happening in the Houston area and how—in the midst of unbelievable destruction—God is working through his church to bring healing and restoration. After watching, visit the website of the Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast to see how you and your church can join this work. A few days ago, I put together some thoughts and links that may also serve you in this time.
