Oberammergau & The Passion Play
12-Day Tour to take your breath away
The Passion Play is one of the most enduring Christian traditions today. The story is well known: the small Bavarian hamlet of Oberammergau was suffering from the Bubonic plague in the 17th Century. The villagers prayed to be spared. They vowed that they would perform a Passion Play every ten years if the Lord intervened to save the village.
It is said that not one single person perished. Now, fulfillment of their promise, the entire community reenacts the Passion of our Lord Jesus once every ten years.
In the summer of 2020, the residents of the quaint hamlet in southern Germany will perform the play again. It is known to be a spectacle of unbelievable power and beauty. Since the first play in 1634, the drama has moved the hearts of millions and millions of travelers.

The First Full Day
Upon arrival in Prague, we will be met by our tour guide and board our motor coach. We will drive into the Old Town to catch a first glimpse of the capital of the Czech Republic. We will learn about its history and stroll though the quarter. In the evening we will enjoy our welcome dinner at famous Plzenska restaurace Obecni dum, which is situated in the basement of the Municipal house, a very beautiful and impressive Art Nouveau building. We will be staying overnight in Prague.
And that’s just Day ONE!
After breakfast, we will leave the Czech Republic and enter Slovakia, where our next stop is in Bratislava. The charming old town is the place to start admiring Bratislava. On our own, we will stroll narrow pedestrian streets of pastel-colored 18th-century buildings or relax in one of the many sidewalk cafes under the watchful gaze of the city castle, which harks back to medieval times. Then we will continue to Budapest, the capital and biggest city in Hungary. After check-in we will enjoy a dinner and Gypsy Music. Overnight will be in Budapest.
